Test Management Solutions

Summary Description:

This training course provides a comprehensive review of the key and critical elements essential to managing a testing effort.  Checklists, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) guides, and planning templates are provided to support planning throughout the Software Test Life Cycle.  We encourage users of the methodology to hone these processes, identifying specific redundant activities that are environmentally specific.   Clear identification of the work to be performed, augmented by accurate tracking of actual time taken leads to highly effective metrics that facilitate improved estimating of future projects.

There are common components that must always be addressed.

*

Testing is life cycle oriented.

*

We must first ensure that the request for change is clear and translatable to software change.

*

We must verify that our defined software solution addresses the business request.

*

We must plan the static and dynamic tests to be performed.

*

We must prepare staff and environments for the tests to be conducted.

*

We must execute and document the results of the tests performed.

*

We must organize and archive the testing efforts employed so that they can efficiently be reused.

The Test Management course also provides a comprehensive orientation to creating test plans.   The course-work addresses both strategic and tactical test plans. The instructor provides insights and examples to illustrate the value of structured planning.
